We offer a wide range of services to help you thrive.

Your health is multifaceted — so your healthcare should be, too.

We believe in the power of collaborative and personalized treatment plans, informed by modern research and evidence-based practices. We’ll help you create a path to whole-body wellness that’s effective and uniquely yours.

Whether you’re seeking better mobility, reduced pain, recovery from illness or injury, or support with your mental health, we have treatments that can help.

Physiotherapy

Physiotherapy is a multi-faceted treatment that helps create health, mobility, and vitality. Your physiotherapist will work with you to create a personalized treatment plan to help you reach your wellness goals.

Treatment methods include hands-on treatment, exercise instruction, acupuncture and IMS, taping, modalities such as ultrasound and electrotherapy, and education — all with the aim of promoting, restoring, and maintaining optimal physical, psychological, and social wellbeing.

  • Many women (and men) suffer from incontinence — but unfortunately, rarely do they report their symptoms. But good news: often, this common issue can be treated conservatively through education, exercise, and lifestyle changes.

The areas of focus in urogynecology include both urinary and fecal incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, chronic pelvic pain, and sexual dysfunction. Specific exercises are often very helpful; and our highly-skilled team can use biofeedback and electrical stimulation for effective treatment when exercises aren’t sufficient. Our team works with medical specialists to ensure that your treatment is comprehensive and effective.

  • Vestibular rehabilitation is an effective form of treatment for chronic dizziness and balance problems. After careful assessment and identification of the factors that trigger dizziness episodes, we’ll create a personalized treatment plan of techniques and modalities that reduce the symptoms.

An exercise program may then be designed, based on the evidence that repeated stimulus will decrease the nervous system’s sensitivity. Balance exercises have proven to be very effective in decreasing falls in elderly patients.

Exercise Therapy

  • GLA:D is an exceptional education and exercise program that helps people with knee and hip osteoarthritis manage their symptoms, reduce pain, and regain function.

The program originated in Denmark , and is continually advanced to reflect the latest research into osteoarthritis.

Several of our team are well-trained in leading GLA:D, which consists of a six-week program, usually held in a group setting. In addition to osteoarthritis education, exercise sessions focus on core stability, posture, muscle strength, and functional training. Patients leave the program well-resourced in managing their osteoarthritis symptoms for the long term.

To book your assessment for an upcoming GLA:D program at our clinic, please reach out to us here.

  • Exercise therapy is a personalized post-rehabilitation program, prescribed by your physiotherapist or occupational therapist, and guided by an exercise therapist.

Specific strengthening, stretching, and stabilization exercises are a critical part of rehabilitating musculoskeletal injuries, and continued exercise is an important part of injury prevention.

We provide exercises designed to meet your personal and functional goals, in both individual and group sessions.

  • Aquatic Therapy is a low-impact and effective method of reducing pain and improving your range of motion. You do not need any swimming experience to participate in our Aquatic Therapy!

Our team of physiotherapists and kinesiologists will develop a pool-based exercise program, customized to your specific needs. We have reserved swimming lanes dedicated for our aquatic therapy programs.

This therapy is particularly useful for patients with orthopedic conditions, back issues, knee injuries, or arthritis. Our aquatic therapy programs are often an effective stepping-stone for patients before they move into gym-based exercise programs.

  • We offer a progressive physical reconditioning program for patients needing to improve or maximize their physical and functional conditioning prior to returning to work or daily living after an injury or illness.

Following a physical and functional assessment with a physiotherapist and occupational therapist, we’ll provide recommendations and a treatment plan for you to follow in order to meet your goals.

Acupuncture

Acupuncture is an ancient treatment, with roots in Traditional Chinese Medicine, and has been practiced for up to 4,000 years. More recently, many scientific studies have proven acupuncture’s efficacy in modern healthcare.

During your treatment, your practitioner will insert very fine, disposable needles into specific points on the body, which stimulates the nervous system and releases various chemicals that help the body achieve balance and wellbeing.

Acupuncture encourages the body’s natural healing capabilities, and can improve overall function and balance. It can help heal hormone imbalances, improve fertility, reduce or eliminate pain, lessen inflammation, reduce stress, increase energy, and more.

    Osteoarthritis
    Meniscus sprains and tears

    Post-surgery treatment and stability

Custom knee braces shift the weight away from the injured part of your joint, so that it is under less strain and pressure. The result is often reduced pain, an ability to walk more comfortably, and the opportunity for your knee joint to heal optimally.

We carry two of the leading brands of custom knee braces, Osskin and Enovis (previously Don Joy), and both bring the most sophisticated engineering to your treatment. Your specialist will determine which brace is best for you.

    How It Works

If you’re interested in seeking relief and support through custom bracing, here’s how our process together will go.

    1. Call our clinic at 250-426-4629, and ask our friendly Patient Care Coordinators to book you in with a bracing or compression specialist for a consultation appointment. No referral is required for your complimentary consultation.

    2. During this appointment, we’ll assess your injury, and discuss your history and any prior treatments or surgeries you’ve had. We’ll provide an orthopaedic examination and inspect your range of movement, and decide whether a custom brace is an ideal solution for you.

    3. If it is, we’ll move forward by taking your measurements, assessing exactly what you’ll need from your brace, and providing you with a quote. (Please note that at KTC, it is our policy to take 50% of the brace purchase as a down-payment for the product)

    4. If we order you a custom brace, you’ll receive a second complimentary session, where your specialist will fit the brace and you will pay for the remaining price of the product.

    5. Next, you can submit a claim (if you have extended health benefits). Please note that a referral from your physician or NP is often required by insurers in order to submit a claim for a custom brace. Please look into your medical benefits plan in order to determine what coverage you get for custom braces, and what documentation is required for coverage through your insurer. We can assist in providing necessary documents, and helping attain referrals from your medical providers! (And remember, no referral is needed for your initial consultation!)

    6. Then, we’ll design a personalized treatment plan for you that integrates your new custom brace into your lifestyle, and ensures your brace is working to its full potential. We’ll stay in touch, so that you’re confident you have the support you need as you heal.
